Pauline Brookes

Pauline Brookes

Chair Of Governors

Appointed by Foundation/Trust From 19 September 2022 To 17 September 2026

I am delighted to be the chairman for the Governing Body at Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School. I have been involved in Catholic education as a pupil aged 7 and taught in Catholic Primary schools since 1980. I continue to work closely and remain involved in school life at Holy Trinity as supply teacher as a school Governor since retiring as deputy headteacher in 2018. I have had the privilege of watching the school evolve, change and adapt. I remain interested and aware of the ever changing and challenging and stimulating aspects of education within the school, which are linked to wider elements. I have always valued the strong links and spiritual life involved with parish of Holy Trinity, where the priests remain key to the spiritual development of children and staff. My faith has been strengthened by my experiences at the school. I continue to enjoy opportunities for learning and training in this task. I know good communication is key to building this Governing Body, who are very talented and have varied skills, which can be incorporated in shaping the next stage or school life.

I have two children that attend Holy Trinity and my third child due to start school in September 2020, so Holy Trinity is a big part of our family. I am delighted for getting this opportunity as foundation governor to support the school and staff in maintaining high educational standards at Holy Trinity both now and in the future. As a foundation governor, I feel I could become part of the team that supports the Headteacher, staff and most importantly, the well-being and safety of all our children.

Foundation Governor

Appointed by Foundation/Trust From 28 June 2023 to 27 June 2027

I retired to Chipping Norton with my wife and daughter Emma, in July 2021. This was following a long career as a commercial director in the construction industry with extensive time spent living overseas. I was resident in a number of Middle East and Caribbean countries at various times over the last 35 years including Oman, UAE - Dubai & Abu Dhabi, Egypt, Qatar, Trinidad & Tobago. The church has been a big part of my life and I was fortunate to be able to attend Catholic Church in those countries. I am happy to be part of the Chipping Norton and Holy Trinity community and welcome the opportunity to serve as Foundation Governor at Holy Trinity school.

Staff Governor

Elected by school staff From 30 March 2021 To 29 March 2024

I graduated from Brunel University with a degree in Sport Science in 2000 and then worked in the Licensing department of MGM in London for a time – the Pink Panther and James Bond were my bread and butter! Disappointingly, I never met either in the flesh. My next step was to study for a PGCE in Primary Education, which I did at the University of Southampton, specialising in Modern Foreign Languages. On qualifying, I worked as a class teacher for 7 years at Abbotswood School in Hampshire, before relocating to Chipping Norton. After a short break to raise my 3 children, I returned to teaching at Hill View School in Banbury, where I happily worked for 4 years before applying for a position at Holy Trinity. Throughout my career I have primarily worked in Key Stage 2 and moved to Year 1 in 2017. I am Science lead at Holy Trinity and am currently undertaking my Forest School training, which I look forward to putting into practice in 2022. I am also part of a maths mastery workgroup with several local schools, working with Mrs Clay (KS2 and Maths Lead) and all of our staff to embed mastery within our maths curriculum. I am staff governor and an active member of the PTA, having chaired for 3 years.

I moved to Oxfordshire almost 20 years ago and I have lived in many of the surrounding villages before landing in Chipping Norton. I have one child who attends Holy Trinity currently. I have over 10 years experience in Commercial Real Estate and Project Management and am a highly qualified Personal Trainer qualified to take referrals for exercise in connection to many serious but also common health conditions. I am hugely invested in fitness and well-being and am keen to ensure both physical and emotional well-being alongside nutrition are paramount factors through education. I am looking forward to supporting the Head Teacher and the school in their mission to deliver the children to bright and brilliant futures.
