Academy Committee Members' Profiles
Foundation Governor since 2003 and taught in the school previously. I serve on the ‘Performance and standards committee and also work within the Special Needs and disability. I have learnt a lot through previously working as a Governor on subject areas including mathematics, music and early years. I have a very close relationship to the school, seeing it grow from 3 classes with 65 children to the present day. I have strong bonds with its ethos and understand how it has made its impact on parish and town. I enjoy opportunities of attending school fairs organised by the PTA and play performances when time allows. As a deputy head teacher in a Catholic primary school in Oxford, I hope to bring a wide outlook on the educational and character of the school. I love to have opportunities to learn from children proving the joy life and that learning is a natural process.
I have been a Parent Governor / Academy Committee member for three years. This is my second year of being Vice-Chair for the Academy Committee. I am also a Parent Director on the board of directors for the Pope Francis Multi Academy Company, (which encompasses Holy Trinity and both St. Joseph's and Blessed George Napier in Banbury). Previously I chaired the Resources & Assets committee and the Pay Committee. I have two children at the school and enjoy the work we do as Academy Committee Members. Outside of school I run a design company, specialising in producing marketing materials for the Entertainment industry. I like biscuits too much - they will probably be my downfall.
I am the new Parent Governor. I live in Chipping Norton with my husband, and two girls Evie and Georgia (and a menagerie of animals)! Evie is currently in Year 1 and Georgia will be starting in Foundation in September (2015). I am currently a stay at home Mum, before the girls I worked in the engineering industry in administration. I really enjoy reading, watching films and being creative/crafty with the girls!
Retirement has given me the opportunity to pursue some of my hobbies. I enjoy walking, preferably by the North Yorkshire coast, but 2012 found me trekking across the terrain of Spain completing the Camino. Every step was worthwhile because thanks to the generosity of Holy Trinity Parish, School, friends and family £2000 was raised for LHNT. Pottering in the garden, holidays in warmer climes with my two great nephews of aged four and one, and visits to the theatre are also favourite pastimes. My teaching experience of 39 years, in RC Primary schools, included 19 as Headteacher of three very different establishments. In Guildford, I trained to be an R E inspector for the Westminster Diocese. My next Headship was in Crosby and then I returned to H T where I had been Deputy Head in 1987- 1990. I am an active member of H T church being a Eucharistic Minister, Reader and on the Welcoming and Cleaning rota's. I feel it is a privilege to be able to share the workload of the Academy Committee and to support the school that means so much to me.
